The game that I spent three years on and the reason you've all not heard a peep from me all this time. :)

Prints

Wed Mar 5, 2008, 2:06 AM
I'm making prints of my pictures for display in my new home, and I thought that I might as well offer them to anyone else who might want them too while I'm at it, so that I can get them all done at one go :)

As always, 4R prints (4" x 6") are free, but I can't afford the postage for free stuff anymore. So you'd have to pay postage if you want them.

If you want bigger prints (I'll be making big ones for my home), here are the prices:

5R (5" x 7") - US$5
6R (6" x 8") - US$6
8R (8" x 10") - US$7

Any picture in my gallery is up for grabs. Heck, I can even do commissions too - it's been a while since I really drew anything and I'd like a chance to flex my drawing muscles a little.

Looking for a background artist

Thu Feb 21, 2008, 5:42 PM
I'm looking for someone who has at least some familiarity with Photoshop to assist me with the backgrounds on The Marionette.

Most importantly, this person should be able to trace shapes on different layers, and use the Transform tools.

No, actually most importantly, this person must like the game and want to see it finished. I can't afford to pay anyone, but judging from the reactions to The Marionette so far, it will be a very well-received game, and your name will be on it. As proof, The Marionette has received Best Demo 2007 for the AGS Awards.

If you're interested, drop me a note.

Looking for a graphic novel artist

Mon Dec 17, 2007, 2:09 AM
I'm doing this for a friend of mine, who's looking for a comic artist for an adaptation of an award-winning novel about Edgar Allen Poe. I'll quote him:

"The author of an award winning novel about the last week in the life of Edgar Allen Poe is hoping to adapt the book into a graphic novel.

Set against the backdrop of 1849 Baltimore, the novel includes death, darkness, magic, love, blood, and intrigue. It's a book about Poe written as if it was by Poe himself.

We are looking for an experienced comic book or graphic novel artist to work with the author to create a ten page "pitch" for the book to be shopped around to publishers. Upon making a publishing deal, the artist will continue to complete the full length graphic novel. A commitment will be necessary.

We are looking for a dark, realistic or stylized (non-manga), look. Research into the period's dress and architecture will be required. Relevant photos and reading materials to be provided.

The ten page spec will be done entirely in black and white unless your feeling especially ambitious!

If you have the experience, talent, and interest necessary for this job, please email me at "vince.wesselmann" at "gmail" dot "com". Please send appropriate portfolios containing your best applicable work. Rates to be discussed."

So if you've got a nice realistic style, you have some free time and you're willing to take on what sounds like a great and exciting (and financially rewarding!) project, go for it!

As you can see, I haven't been around a lot recently at all. Work has me really swamped and it's rare that I can even make any time for drawing or anything. So my messages have really built up too; currently I have 667 deviations and 348 messages and journals unread. I think I have to make a choice, and my choice is the deviations. I won't be reading or commenting on your journals anymore, I'm afraid... it's a difficult choice but I had to. I simply don't have time to read all the journals anymore.

That said, right now I'm working on a new picture.. yes, one picture in several months now instead of one in days or weeks. Still, I think this picture is going to be very different from the things I usually draw, so it'll be interesting to see the reactions to it. :)
